To my children:
     I am not your friend.  I am your parent.  I will stalk you, flip out on you, lecture you, drive you crazy, be your worst nightmare, and hunt you down if needed.....I will do these things because I LOVE YOU!  
     When you understand that, I know you will have become a responsible adult. 

You will never find someone (besides our Lord) who loves, prays, cares or worries about you more than me.  This is my promise to you.

I seen this online and liked it.  I do try to be a friend to my children but I try to remember that I am their parent first.
